The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system along with local winds. As a result, the Himalayan regions of Bagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country is seeing partly cloudy skies.
This afternoon, the Himalayan regions and the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere.
According to the department, a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. There is also a possibility of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the remaining hilly and Himalayan areas, as well as parts of the Terai region of Sudurpaschim. Windstorms are also likely at some locations in the Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Tonight, the hilly and Himalayan regions across the country will remain generally cloudy, while other areas will see partly cloudy skies. Moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning are likely at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim, as well as some Himalayan areas of other provinces. Light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning are also possible at one or two places in the remaining hilly regions and parts of the Terai in Sudurpaschim. Windstorms are again likely in some parts of the Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
