Traffic movement has become difficult in the Daunne area of the under-construction Narayanghat–Butwal road section as the road surface has turned slippery due to a cold wave. The Project Directorate of the Department of Roads has urged travelers to use alternative routes.
According to the project office, sudden cold wave conditions over the past few days have caused problems on the under-construction road. As culvert construction and road concreting work are ongoing at some locations and traffic is being operated one-way in those sections, there is a higher possibility of further difficulties for vehicles.
The project has requested travelers to obtain accurate and updated information about road conditions before traveling on this section until the weather improves. It has also clarified that if traffic disruption occurs on this road section, the following alternative routes can be used.
Vehicles traveling to and from the East–West Highway can reach Butwal via Narayanghat–Mugling–Pokhara–Syanga–Palpa. Similarly, vehicles can also use the Kaligandaki Chowk (Gaindakot)–Rampur–Pipaldanda route. Likewise, vehicles traveling from Kathmandu towards Bardaghat West and those commuting between Butwal and Kathmandu can travel via the Kathmandu–Mugling–Pokhara route.
