
Two people were killed in Sarlahi after an Indian-number Scorpio jeep struck a motorcycle on the Hulaki Highway.
The accident occurred on the Parsa–Bhelahi road section of Brahmapuri Rural Municipality-5 on Friday night. According to police, 23-year-old Ankit Chaudhary and 25-year-old Rohit Sahani, both residents of Brahmapuri-2, died in the collision.
The incident took place around 9 p.m. when an Indian Scorpio jeep (MH 04 DJ 1297), heading east from Brahmapuri, collided head-on with a motorcycle (Province 3-03-001 P 7575) coming from the opposite direction. Chaudhary, the rider, and Sahani, who was seated in the middle, succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Janakpur.
Another passenger on the motorcycle, Shiva Shankar Pandit, was seriously injured and is receiving treatment at LS Neuro Hospital in Bara, said Sarlahi District Police spokesperson DSP Saroj Rai.
The bodies of Sahani and Chaudhary were brought to the government hospital in Malangwa on Friday night for post-mortem examination, police added.
