Two matches are set to take place today in the ongoing second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) in Kathmandu.
At the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, the first match will begin at 11:15 AM between Sudurpashchim Royals and Biratnagar Kings. The second match is scheduled for 3:30 PM and will feature Chitwan Rhinos against Pokhara Avengers.
Sudurpashchim, who remain unbeaten with 12 points from 6 matches, have already secured their spot in the first qualifier and will be playing without pressure. Biratnagar Kings, on the other hand, have already qualified for the playoffs with 8 points but need a win today to reach the first qualifier.
If Biratnagar win with a strong run rate, they will face Sudurpashchim in the first qualifier. Otherwise, they will have to play the Eliminator against Lumbini Lions. In that case, Sudurpashchim and Kathmandu Gorkhas will meet in the first qualifier.
The afternoon match between Chitwan and Pokhara will be only a battle for pride, as both teams are already out of the playoff race. Both have collected just four points from six matches.
