Two additional polling centers have been recommended in Tanahun district for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. The District Committee for Recommending Polling Locations and Centers, led by Chief District Officer (CDO) Ramkrishna Adhikari, made the decision in a meeting held on Sunday and forwarded the recommendation to the Election Commission.
The new polling centers have been proposed at:
- Padmajyoti Basic School, Rishing Rural Municipality–4
- Dharma Basic School, Rishing Rural Municipality–6
According to CDO Adhikari, Rishing Rural Municipality had requested the addition of new polling centers in these locations. Both wards previously had one polling center each, and the committee found it necessary to add one more in each ward. The District Security Committee also conducted a field inspection of these sites a few days earlier.
Tanahun currently has 305 polling centers across its two constituencies. As of Ashoj 8, 2082, the district has 247,004 registered voters—119,089 men and 127,915 women.
District Election Office Chief Bikash Lamsal stated that the office has been experiencing heavy crowds for voter registration. Preparations for the upcoming election on Falgun 21 have already begun, he added.
