Two people were seriously injured after a car plunged into the Daraudi River along the Gorkha–Ambukhaireni road section early Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 3:30 AM when a Creta car (Ba 17 Cha 9906), traveling from Ambukhaireni toward Gorkha, lost control and fell into the river.
According to Suraj Aryal, Chief of the District Traffic Office Gorkha, the injured have been identified as Niraj Koirala and Peter Gurung from Chepetar, Gorkha Municipality–10.
Local residents and police rescued the victims and provided initial treatment before referring them to Bharatpur, Chitwan, for further medical care. Rajkumar Shrestha, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Gorkha, said both individuals sustained injuries to the head, hands, and legs.
Police have stated that further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
