CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that the term “Gen Z” does not represent the identity of Nepali society but is rather a label imposed by the West.
Speaking at a UML event held in Bhaktapur on Thursday, Pokharel remarked, “Gen Z is not our identity; it is something imposed upon us by others. We must understand that our traditions, culture, and society are being deliberately disturbed through Western strategies that divide generations.”
He further emphasized that the functioning of society requires the cooperation of all generations, aligning with Eastern philosophy. “Running a society is not about the dominance of a single generation,” he said. “Our Eastern philosophy teaches that a well-organized society depends on the harmony of four generations.”
