The CPN–UML held a large show of strength in Kathmandu today.
This is the party’s first major mass demonstration in the capital after the protests of Bhadra 23 and 24. Before this, UML had organized rallies at ward, municipality, and district headquarters.
The rally started from Bhrikutimandap and proceeded through Bhadrakali, Sundhara, and Ratnapark before returning to Bhrikutimandap. Top leaders of the party are scheduled to address the assembly at Bhrikutimandap.
Under the leadership of the UML Bagmati Province Committee, the party had decided to demonstrate its presence from the streets to the court against the dissolution of the House of Representatives. Today’s rally in Kathmandu reflects that decision.
