CPN-UML leader Lalbabu Pandit has filed his candidacy for the post of secretary at the party’s 11th general convention.
Pandit, who is included in the central committee member list from the faction led by party chair KP Sharma Oli, registered his candidacy for the secretary position.
He said he decided to contest for the post with the aim of further strengthening the party organization and reinforcing its ideology, policies, and leadership. Pandit stated that his long experience of handling various responsibilities within the party has enabled him to play an effective role in organizational work, which led him to seek the secretary position at this time.
Pandit had also staked a claim for an office-bearer position during the 10th general convention. At that time, after failing to secure a post, he had left the convention venue in protest.
