CPN (UML) leader Mahesh Basnet has said that the attempt to attack him was serious and condemnable.
Basnet made the remarks while responding to the incident in which two youths threw red ink at the vehicle he was traveling in. He was on his way to participate in the Youth Association’s Koshi Awakening Assembly organized in Sunsari when the incident took place.
He thanked the police for immediately arresting the two youths involved in the act.
Writing on Facebook, Basnet said:
“Throwing red ink and attempting to attack us at Biratnagar Airport is serious and shameful. Even in a democracy, there are limits to protest. Peaceful assemblies, rallies, and free movement across the country are the rights of all citizens, but such acts of attack can never be acceptable.”
