UML leader and suspended lawmaker Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who was implicated in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, has returned to prison. According to sources at Dillibazar Prison, Rayamajhi was sent back to the facility on Tuesday.
He had escaped from Sundhara Prison on September 9 during a protest staged by Gen-Z inmates. After two weeks on the run, he surrendered back to Sundhara Prison before being transferred to Dillibazar Prison, the source confirmed.
Earlier, another escapee, Chudamani Upreti alias “Gore,” had also returned. Out of the 3,300 inmates who escaped from the prison, around 1,000 have returned, while some have contacted various district prisons, according to the source.
