The vote counting for the new leadership of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) is underway, and the Election Commission has released preliminary results.
- Chairman: KP Sharma Oli is leading with 156 votes, while senior vice-chair Ishwar Pokharel has 67 votes.
- General Secretary: Shankar Pokharel leads with 115 votes, followed closely by Surendra Pandey with 108 votes.
- Deputy General Secretaries: Lekhraj Bhatt is in the lead with 147 votes, followed by Yogesh Bhattarai with 140 votes and Bishnu Rimal with 105 votes. Other candidates include Anand Pokharel (71 votes), Raghubir Mahaseth (126 votes), Rajendra Prasad Gautam (26 votes), and Vaijnath Chaudhary (54 votes).
The counting continues, and updates are expected as more votes are tallied.
