Nepal Communist Party (UML) Politburo member and former minister Mahesh Basnet has warned the government to arrest him. Following a complaint filed by a woman, he gave a statement to the police cyber bureau, and on Wednesday, he held a press conference challenging the government to take action against him.
Basnet stated that they plan to form a digital force to report to the police about incidents of arson, looting, and killings associated with the Gen-Z movement. “Arrest me if you can. Those who fight for law and democracy are ready to go to jail for the country and the people, but no one should tolerate false accusations. The Gen-Z government should bring those involved in arson, looting, and murder to justice,” he said.
He also expressed concerns regarding the upcoming elections scheduled for Falgun 21, questioning the credibility of the process.
