The second statute convention of the CPN-UML continues today in Godavari, Lalitpur, at the Sunrise Conference Center. On the third day of the convention, closed sessions will present suggestions gathered during group discussions on reports tabled at the convention, according to UML publicity chief Rajendra Gautam.
The closed session is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. Group leaders from Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will present their suggestions on the reports. In addition, representatives from the Valley Special Province, various people’s organizations, liaison coordination committees, diaspora and central bodies, as well as the central office and departmental structures, will also present group recommendations.
After group leaders deliver their suggestions, Prime Minister and party chair KP Sharma Oli will respond. If consensus cannot be reached on specific issues, decisions will be made through voting, and the party statute will be passed in an integrated form, Gautam added.
The convention will also pass contemporary proposals and hold elections for the party’s Central Election Commission today.
