Joel B. Vowell of the United States Army has arrived in Nepal for a three-day official visit.
Lieutenant General Vowell, who serves as the deputy commanding general of the United States Army Pacific, arrived in Nepal on Sunday as part of a delegation according to a pre-scheduled program.
During the visit, which will continue until Chaitra 3, he is scheduled to hold formal meetings with senior officials of the Nepali Army. He will also visit the Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre located in Panchkhal.
According to the Nepali Army, such regular visits are expected to further strengthen relations between Nepal and the United States, and help expand cooperation in areas such as humanitarian assistance, disaster management, and international peacekeeping operations.
