Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has said that the government currently has no information regarding the whereabouts of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
In a televised address, Rodríguez stated that President Maduro’s location has been unclear since the US military action, and that the government is seeking proof that he is alive.
The United States has claimed that it launched large-scale military operations against Venezuela early Saturday morning. US President Donald Trump has asserted that President Maduro was detained during the operation and expelled from the country. However, the Venezuelan government has questioned these claims and rejected any official confirmation, further deepening the uncertainty.
Vice President Rodríguez claimed that President Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores are currently missing. Trump, meanwhile, has stated that both Maduro and his wife are in US custody and have been removed from the country.
