The Tribhuvan International Airport Office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has announced that it will stop issuing visitor passes for the international terminal building.
According to Airport General Manager Hansraj Pandey, the decision was made following complaints that visitor passes were being issued based on personal connections, leaving those without access unable to obtain them.
He stated, “As per the decision of the Tribhuvan International Airport Facility Committee, the distribution of visitor passes through the International Terminal Duty Office, which had been in place until now, will be discontinued from Shrawan 27.”
In a public notice, the airport office informed that an assistance desk has been arranged at the Tribhuvan International Terminal building for elderly passengers, differently-abled travelers, pregnant women, and minors who require personal assistance.
Furthermore, for passengers needing special assistance such as wheelchairs, facilitation is being arranged in coordination with the respective airlines, Pandey added. The office also requested passengers to comply with the baggage check-in quantity and weight limits specified on their flight tickets.
“The distribution of visitor passes through the international terminal building will be discontinued from Tuesday as per the decision of the Tribhuvan International Airport Facility Committee. This information is shared for the awareness of all concerned,” the public notice stated.
