According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal is currently under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system along with local winds.
Due to this system, generally cloudy conditions are prevailing over the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali, Sudurpashchim, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as the Himalayan regions of other provinces. The hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces are experiencing partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.
This afternoon, most parts of the country are expected to see increased cloud cover. There is a likelihood of moderate rainfall with thunder, lightning, and hailstorms in many places of Karnali and Sudurpashchim, and some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, as well as a few other locations.
The department has also warned of heavy rainfall along with snowfall at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim.
Tonight, most parts of the country will remain cloudy, with chances of moderate rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and hail in many areas of Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Gandaki, and a few places in other provinces.
