A mild western disturbance is currently affecting Nepal’s weather, with partial cloud cover over the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, Gandaki Province, and Karnali Province. The rest of the country is experiencing mostly clear weather, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
On Friday afternoon, fog is expected to persist until midday in some parts of the Tarai region. Cloudy conditions are forecast for Lumbini Province, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Province, while other areas will see partial clouds.
Tonight, mist and fog are likely in some Tarai areas. Higher hills and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces will see cloudy skies, with chances of light rain and snowfall at one or two places.
The department has warned that since fog may last until midday in parts of the Tarai and there is little chance of immediate rainfall, air pollution could persist in the Tarai and valleys. The public and concerned authorities have been urged to take necessary precautions.
