The country is currently experiencing the effects of a western low-pressure system along with local winds, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
As per the Meteorological Forecasting Division, hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, and Bagmati Province are generally cloudy, while the remaining Terai regions are experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
At present, moderate rainfall and snowfall are occurring in some areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as parts of Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.
During the day, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, with partly cloudy conditions in the Terai. There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly and mountainous areas, as well as in one or two places of the Terai in Koshi and Lumbini Province.
Tonight, the mountainous regions are likely to remain generally cloudy, while hilly areas will see partial cloud cover. The Terai is expected to remain mostly clear.
There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
