The western outer gate of the main Pashupati Temple complex, which connects the Pashupati area to the Gaushala main road, has been reopened from Thursday.
A group of heritage conservation activists had met newly appointed Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, Prakash Mani Sharma Bhusal, requesting the reopening of the gate located near the Gaushala police circle. Following the request led by activist Prakash Rayamajhi, the Trust reopened the outer gate toward the police circle starting Wednesday.
The gate had remained closed for nearly a decade. Activists have also advised authorities to avoid arbitrary activities within the World Heritage Site, Rayamajhi said.
