Conveying the message of sustainable urban development and cooperation, World Cities Day is being observed today around the world under the theme “Human-Centered Smart Cities.”
On the occasion of this day, a special program is being held in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, at the call of the United Nations.
Celebrated since 2014, the main objective of the day is to promote global collaboration for building sustainable and inclusive cities that can address global challenges such as the housing crisis.
As the world rapidly urbanizes, sustainable urban development has become essential. According to the United Nations, more than half of the world’s population now lives in urban areas.
