
Thukten Palwar Tamang, a resident of Khagalgaun-3, Namkha Rural Municipality, Humla, has been missing for 11 days after participating in a Gen-Z protest in Kathmandu. Thukten, who currently lives in Tinchuli, Kathmandu, has not been in contact since the demonstration.
According to his father, Tsi Chhiring, Thukten returned home on Bhadra 23 after joining the protest. However, on Bhadra 24, after finishing his morning shift at work in a hotel, he returned to his room at 2 PM and went back out to participate in the protest. Since then, he has not returned.
Despite 11 days of search across different areas of Kathmandu, there has been no trace of him. His father mentioned that Thukten is the younger of his two sons.
Following his disappearance, Ang Bahadur Lama, President of the Namkhyom Humla Buddhist Society, issued a notice requesting assistance in finding him. On Wednesday, the society submitted a memorandum to Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Kulman Ghising, urging action for his search.
Thukten, 24, had completed his Lama studies at Narayanthan Monastery and had been living in Tinchuli with his nephew, according to his father.
