A young man has died after being attacked by a rhinoceros in Madi Municipality–1. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Ashok Bhattarai.
Bhattarai was attacked by the rhino on Monday while he had gone to the nearby Marad Khola to collect grass and firewood. He was seriously injured in the attack and later died during treatment at Chitwan Medical College on Monday night.
According to Chitwan National Park Information Officer Avinash Thapamagar, two people have lost their lives due to wildlife attacks in the current fiscal year. Both deaths were caused by rhino attacks.
