The Nepal Samyukta Party (NSP) has directed the postponement of its scheduled election rally in Bhairahawa. The party’s central office issued a letter instructing the provincial committee to halt the rally planned for Saturday.
The letter cited organizational priorities and strategic management considerations as the main reasons for the temporary postponement.
NSP Rupandehi-3 election commander Narayan Prasad Bhandari confirmed that the directive came from the party center, despite preparations for the rally being in the final stages.
Political circles speculate that the decision is linked to last night’s incident in Dang, where NSP supporters reportedly set fire to a UML flag and chanted slogans against UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. The incident has reportedly angered UML activists, adding to tensions ahead of the Bhairahawa rally.
