The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a partial influence of a western low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere across Nepal.
Due to this system, generally cloudy conditions are currently prevailing in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while other hilly and mountainous areas are experiencing partly cloudy skies.
Friday Weather Outlook
On Friday afternoon, some places in the Terai region are likely to witness morning mist. The hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain generally cloudy, while the remaining hilly and mountainous areas will see partly cloudy conditions. The weather in the Terai is expected to remain mainly clear.
There is a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of other provinces. Light snowfall is also likely in some high-altitude areas.
Night Forecast
During the night, light fog is expected in a few places in the Terai region. The mountainous areas across the country will remain generally cloudy, while the hilly regions will be partly cloudy and the Terai will experience mainly clear weather.
There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, the department stated.
