Fourteen members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Kathmandu-5, including the founding regional coordinator, have submitted their collective resignation.
Those resigning include founding regional coordinator Madhusudhandhwaj Khadka; Budhanilkantha Municipality Ward No. 3 city representative Ram Shrestha and Jaya Shrestha; Ward No. 4 members Samip Ghale and Kabi Thapa Magar.
Similarly, ward officials and members who resigned include Ward No. 7’s Pratibha Sedhai, Ward No. 7 member Kiran Thapa, Tokha RSP member Chiranjivi Adhikari, audit members Sujana Basnet and Shobha Subedi, as well as Ward No. 4 members Prabhat Maharjan, Rajesh Thapa, Madhav Thapa Magar, and Anjana Bogati.
In their resignation letter, they have accused the party leadership of financial irregularities under the pretext of selecting a House of Representatives candidate.
They also stated that the party has hurt their aspiration to build the country in an environment of democracy and good governance. Citing dissatisfaction with local party activities, they mentioned that they have resigned effective immediately.
