Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah, popularly known as Balen, has arrived in Sudurpaschim after completing his election campaign in eastern Nepal. He reached the far-western region on Tuesday.
During his visit, Balen met RSP candidates from Kailali and Kanchanpur. Even upon reaching Mahendranagar, large crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of him. Surrounded by supporters, Balen was seen standing through the sunroof of his vehicle, waving to the crowd as he moved forward.
He did not deliver formal election speeches. Instead, he held brief interactions with party candidates and advised them to intensify their campaign efforts. While supporters attempted to welcome him with garlands and khadas, he politely declined and handed them to his aides. He rang the bell at the party office and was also seen waving the national flag at different locations.
In Dhangadhi, Balen even played the guitar and hummed the song “Najau Para Aau Wara,” adding a lighter moment to his visit. After arriving in Kailali on Tuesday morning, he continued meeting local candidates. Entering Kanchanpur from constituency number 1, he met party workers in Belauri along with RSP Kanchanpur-1 candidate Janak Singh Dhami.
He also met local leaders and cadres in Jhalari alongside constituency-1 candidate Deepak Bohara. Later in the day, Balen reached Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur constituency number 3.
Balen is expected to stay in Sudurpaschim for a few days to continue election campaigning. His itinerary also includes visits to hill districts of the region. He is scheduled to travel to Achham constituency number 2 as well, where his chief personal secretary, Bhupadev Shah, is contesting as a candidate.
