Chairman of the Ujyaalo Nepal Party, Kulman Ghising, has made it clear that the party’s name and election symbol will not be merged with any other political party.
Speaking at the formation program of the Ujyaalo Nepal Kathmandu–Ramechhap Forum held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Ghising expressed his commitment to moving forward while safeguarding the party’s independent identity.
Recalling the unity agreement with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Ghising described it as an “unfortunate accident” and said the party had faced a serious crisis during that period. Referring to the 12-day unity with RSP, he remarked that the party had fallen into a “coma-like” state at the time, but claimed that it has now recovered and is moving ahead in a healthy manner.
Stating that the party had to face several ups and downs even before completing three months since its formation, Ghising firmly said that Ujyaalo Nepal Party’s name and election symbol would not be allowed to be merged with any other party. While other parties are welcome to merge into Ujyaalo Nepal Party, he reiterated that his party itself will not merge into any other political force.
In the context of the upcoming House of Representatives election, Ghising urged everyone to actively work to ensure the victory of the 121 candidates fielded by the party. He emphasized the need to run a people-centric campaign with minimal expenses and expressed disappointment at seeing so-called new parties indulging in extravagance.
Addressing the program, Ghising also spoke about the achievements he made while serving as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority. Based on those experiences and successes, he asserted that the Ujyaalo Nepal Party is the most suitable alternative for the overall development of the country.
