Durga Prasai, who was arrested from Pokhara on charges of spreading rumors on various issues, has been released on bail by Kathmandu Police.
According to District Police Spokesperson SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Prasai’s statement was recorded and he was released into the custody of his relatives, as it was deemed appropriate to keep him out of detention.
Prasai was arrested yesterday from Chauthe while returning after addressing a civic gathering organized at Lakeside, Pokhara.
Following his public remarks alleging that the Election Commission had taken money to make decisions regarding the Nepali Congress legitimacy dispute, the Commission on Sunday had written to the Cyber Bureau requesting action against him.
