The Government of India has announced that it will provide a grant of INR 7 billion to Nepal in the upcoming fiscal year, which is equivalent to more than NPR 12 billion.
While presenting India’s annual budget for the fiscal year 2026/27 in Parliament on Sunday, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that Nepal will receive a grant amounting to NPR 12.8 billion.
For the current fiscal year, India has revised its estimate to provide INR 7.3 billion in assistance to Nepal.
Among neighboring countries, India has allocated the highest grant to Bhutan, amounting to INR 22.88 billion.
India provides grants to all South Asian countries except Pakistan.
