Vehicular movement has resumed on the Jumla–Mugu road section of the Karnali Highway after accumulated snow was cleared. The road had been completely blocked from Bhulbhule in Jumla through Ghuchchilekh, Sat Mode, to Jhadnaula following heavy snowfall on the night of Magh 10.
The Road Division Office, Jumla, took immediate action and used JCB machines for two consecutive days—on Magh 11 and 12—to remove thick layers of snow piled on the road. With the snow cleared, this vital stretch of the Karnali Highway has reopened, allowing passenger buses and cargo trucks that had been stranded mid-route for two days to continue toward their destinations.
The reopening of the road has eased transportation between Jumla and Mugu. Local residents and travelers, who had been enduring harsh cold conditions and facing difficulties in transporting daily essentials during the closure, have expressed relief after the road was brought back into operation.
