Vote counting for the elections held under the 11th National Convention of the CPN-UML has officially begun. According to Sanuraja Pokharel, Vice-Chairperson of the UML Election Commission, the counting has started with preparations to make the results public within three hours.
Out of a total of 2,263 eligible voters, 2,227 votes were cast, while 36 delegates were absent from the voting process.
Voting had begun at 9:00 am on Wednesday and concluded at 7:00 am today.
There is direct competition between KP Sharma Oli and Ishwar Pokharel for the post of party chairperson. Similarly, for the powerful post of general secretary, Shankar Pokharel and Surendra Prasad Pandey are contesting.
The Election Commission is preparing to announce the results of all positions simultaneously.
