Three matches across three groups are scheduled for today (Wednesday) in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup being held in India and Sri Lanka.
In Group D, Afghanistan will face South Africa at 11:15 AM. Later in the day at 3:15 PM, Ireland from Group B will take on Australia.
Similarly, at 7:15 PM, England and West Indies from Group C, the group that includes Nepal, will clash.
Among the teams playing today, South Africa won their opening match and have 2 points. Afghanistan, however, lost their first game. In this group, New Zealand are at the top with 4 points, while Afghanistan, the USA, and Canada are yet to register a win and remain on zero points.
In Group B, Ireland are without points after losing their first match, while Australia will be playing their first game of the World Cup. Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka sit in first and second place respectively with 2 points each, while Ireland and Oman have zero points.
Meanwhile, in Group C, England secured a narrow 4-run victory over Nepal in their first match to earn 2 points. West Indies also won their opening game and have 2 points. They are placed first and third in the group respectively. Scotland, having played two matches with one win and one loss, are in second place with 2 points. Nepal and Italy are still without points.
