The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has denied burning the flag of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) (UML).
District Chairperson Binay Ghimire issued a statement clarifying that the party was not involved in the incident.
According to the statement, while the party’s central chairperson was traveling to Dang after concluding a program in Surkhet, well-wishers had spontaneously gathered along the roadside to welcome him. The statement alleged that certain infiltrators and undesirable elements attempted to create a misleading situation during that time.
“We want to make it clear that our party has no involvement whatsoever in such a condemnable act carried out with the intention of tarnishing the growing public support for the RSP,” the statement reads.
