The ‘Second National Original Kauraaha Conference–2083’ begins today (Friday) at Jhaptar, Ward-1 of Rishing Rural Municipality in Tanahun. The event is organized to preserve and promote the indigenous identity of the Magar community, and thousands of artists from across the country have already arrived at the venue.
According to Hark Bahadur Thapa Magar, President of the Nepal Magar Association Tanahun, hosting this historic conference at the birthplace of Kauraaha is a matter of great enthusiasm. He said the arrival of artists in Jhaptar has created a vibrant cultural atmosphere, giving meaningful momentum to the preparations.
Ranjita Thapa Magar, General Secretary of the association who is overseeing the technical and managerial aspects of the event, said artists from various districts are currently engaged in final rehearsals for the mass cultural dance performance. She added that strict technical standards have been set to ensure the authentic presentation of their indigenous tradition before a wider audience.
