Sameer Pal Kapoor, the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, is set to visit Nepal on a three-day official trip.
Since Balen Shah assumed executive responsibilities on 13 Chaitra, Kapoor will be the highest-ranking foreign diplomat to visit Nepal.
He is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on Monday for the visit. Two other officials from the US Department of State will accompany him.
During his stay, Kapoor is also expected to visit the historic Patan Durbar Square.
