The Kalimati Fruits and Vegetable Market Development Committee has published the minimum wholesale prices of agricultural produce for today (Tuesday).
According to the committee, tomato prices have been fixed at NPR 60 per kg for large (Indian) tomatoes, NPR 25 for small local tomatoes, NPR 40 for small tunnel-grown tomatoes, and NPR 40 for small Terai tomatoes. Red potatoes are priced at NPR 22 per kg, Indian red potatoes at NPR 24, and dry Indian onions at NPR 36 per kg.
Similarly, carrot (local) is priced at NPR 50 per kg and carrot (Terai) at NPR 40. Local cabbage is priced at NPR 40, coconut cabbage at NPR 20, cauliflower (local) at NPR 22, cauliflower (Terai) at NPR 22, red radish at NPR 25, white radish (local) at NPR 10, white radish (hybrid) at NPR 15, long brinjal at NPR 50, and round brinjal at NPR 55 per kg.
Other vegetables include pea pods at NPR 40 per kg, local French beans at NPR 90, hybrid French beans at NPR 60, rajma-type beans at NPR 120, flat beans at NPR 60, bitter gourd at NPR 160, bottle gourd at NPR 60, ripe pumpkin at NPR 45, green pumpkin (long) at NPR 10, green pumpkin (round) at NPR 10, turnip at NPR 40, okra at NPR 100, sweet potato at NPR 55, and taro root at NPR 55 per kg.
Leafy vegetables have been priced as follows: mustard greens at NPR 10 per kg, spinach at NPR 20, cress at NPR 20, fenugreek greens at NPR 30, and green onion at NPR 50 per kg.
Likewise, broad beans are priced at NPR 45 per kg, yam at NPR 50, oyster mushrooms at NPR 70, button mushrooms at NPR 300, king mushrooms at NPR 280, broccoli at NPR 30, beetroot at NPR 55, jire saag at NPR 50, celery at NPR 150, parsley at NPR 350, fennel greens at NPR 40, mint at NPR 300, and fermented leafy greens (gundruk) at NPR 280 per kg.
Fruit prices include apples (local packed) at NPR 200 per kg, Fuji apples at NPR 250, bananas at NPR 170 per dozen, pomegranate at NPR 290 per kg, green grapes at NPR 200, black grapes at NPR 350, Nepali oranges at NPR 150, watermelon (green) at NPR 80, sweet lime at NPR 100, junar oranges at NPR 100, pineapple at NPR 135 per piece, local cucumber at NPR 130 per kg, hybrid cucumber at NPR 40, lemon at NPR 55, Chinese pear at NPR 220, Nepali papaya at NPR 60, strawberries at NPR 450, avocado at NPR 250, and Indian gooseberry (amla) at NPR 90 per kg.
The committee noted that these are minimum wholesale prices and may vary depending on supply conditions and market demand.
