The government has made public a draft 18-point National Commitment document aimed at governance reform and has invited suggestions and feedback from political parties and stakeholders.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers called for inputs on the proposed “National Commitment.” The government stated that, as mentioned in its 100-point action plan, it plans to compile key agendas from political party manifestos into a unified national commitment document for implementation.
The concept paper covers 18 major sectors. These include economic stability and reform, dignity and self-reliance in agriculture, tourism and civil aviation, energy development and utilization, mining and minerals, and infrastructure development.
It also seeks input on employment and prosperity, education and health, forests, environment and climate change, good governance and corruption control, administrative reform and service delivery, and e-governance and technology.
Additionally, the draft includes social justice and inclusion, international diplomacy and foreign relations, utilization of knowledge, skills, and capital of the Nepali diaspora, as well as sports, disaster management, and the cooperative and microfinance sectors, for which the government has sought suggestions from political parties.
