During the Nepal Bandh called by the Nepali Communist Party (Majority), a suspicious object was found near Lumbini Gate, Bhairahawa.
The object was inside a bag, with a paper attached reading “Let’s make Nepal Bandh successful”. Following the discovery, traffic in that section of the road was temporarily halted.
The Rupandehi Police reported that upon disposal by the Nepal Army, it was found that a beer can had been filled with soil and stones in an apparent attempt to intimidate the public. The bandh was organized to call for a boycott of the Falgun 21 elections. Schools in the district were closed, vehicles were off the road, and markets remained shut.
In a separate incident, a suspicious object found in Hetauda-16, Chisapani, Dharan Chhatra Road was safely disposed of by the army. Early Tuesday morning at 5:15 AM, locals noticed a suspicious item wrapped in white cloth with a warning label and informed the police.
The police secured the area and coordinated with the Nepal Army for disposal. At 8:10 AM, the combined police and army team safely disposed of the object, as confirmed by the District Police Office, Makwanpur.
