The Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee has fixed the wholesale prices of agricultural commodities for today. According to the committee, large Indian tomatoes are priced at Rs 70 per kg, small local tomatoes at Rs 40, small tunnel tomatoes at Rs 50, small Indian tomatoes at Rs 50, and small Terai tomatoes at Rs 50 per kg. Red potatoes cost Rs 26 per kg, Indian red potatoes Rs 25, and dry Indian onions Rs 37 per kg. Local carrots are priced at Rs 60 per kg and Terai carrots at Rs 50. Local cabbage costs Rs 50 per kg, Terai cabbage Rs 35, and Naribal cabbage Rs 35. Local cauliflower is fixed at Rs 30 per kg, Jyapu local cauliflower at Rs 45, and Terai cauliflower at Rs 30. Red radish costs Rs 35 per kg, local white radish Rs 15, hybrid white radish Rs 20, and both long and round eggplants are priced at Rs 60 per kg.
Similarly, green peas are priced at Rs 50 per kg. Local broad beans cost Rs 100 per kg, hybrid broad beans Rs 80, and rajma beans Rs 120. Flat beans are Rs 65 per kg, bitter gourd Rs 180, sponge gourd Rs 140, bottle gourd Rs 100, ripe pumpkin Rs 55, and green pumpkin (long and round) Rs 18 per kg. Turnip is priced at Rs 50, okra Rs 120, sweet potato Rs 65, bitter melon Rs 65, taro root Rs 65, and chayote Rs 60 per kg. Mustard greens cost Rs 30 per kg, spinach Rs 35, cress Rs 30, mustard leaf Rs 25, fenugreek Rs 40, green onions Rs 50, broad beans Rs 60, yam Rs 60, oyster mushroom Rs 130, button mushroom Rs 460, king oyster mushroom Rs 300, and shiitake mushroom Rs 1,000 per kg.
Broccoli is priced at Rs 40 per kg, beetroot Rs 65, drumstick (moringa) Rs 280, red cabbage Rs 80, jute leaves Rs 60, knol khol Rs 60, celery Rs 180, parsley Rs 400, fennel leaves Rs 40, mint Rs 350, round radish Rs 50, tamarind Rs 180, bamboo shoots Rs 130, tofu Rs 150, fermented leafy greens (gundruk) Rs 300, and tree tomato Rs 260 per kg.
Among fruits, local apples (loose) cost Rs 250 per kg and Fuji apples Rs 300. Bananas are Rs 190 per dozen, lemons Rs 220 per kg, pomegranate Rs 330, green grapes Rs 250, black grapes Rs 400, local oranges Rs 200, watermelon Rs 90, sweet lime Rs 130, junar Rs 130, pineapple Rs 145 per piece, local cucumber Rs 170 per kg, hybrid cucumber Rs 70, jackfruit Rs 100, lime Rs 65, Chinese pear Rs 250, Nepali papaya Rs 70, Indian papaya Rs 110, lapsi Rs 140, kinnow Rs 130, strawberry Rs 500, kiwi Rs 260, and avocado Rs 350 per kg.
In addition, gooseberry is priced at Rs 100 per kg, ginger Rs 120, dry chili Rs 420, green chili Rs 180, bullet green chili Rs 160, mache green chili Rs 80, Akabare chili Rs 900, Bhedé chili Rs 100, green garlic Rs 60, green coriander Rs 50, dry Chinese garlic Rs 250, dry and fresh anchovy (chhyapi) Rs 150, dried fish Rs 1,000, fresh rohu fish Rs 340, bachuwa fish Rs 280, and chhadi fish Rs 250 per kg, as stated by the committee.
