According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, western winds are currently affecting the weather in Nepal, bringing changes in weather patterns and the possibility of snowfall in various regions.
At present, partly cloudy skies are observed over the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki Province, Karnali Province, and Sudurpashchim Province. Other mountainous regions are also experiencing cloud cover, while most remaining areas are generally clear.
Today afternoon, fog is expected in some parts of the Terai region, while the high mountainous areas may see scattered clouds. Meteorologists say there is a chance of light rain and snowfall at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Kos̄hi Province, Gandaki, and Bagmati Province. A few high hilly locations in other provinces may also experience rain or snow. The weather in the Terai region is expected to be mostly clear during the daytime.
At night, some parts of the Terai may experience mist, and the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali are expected to remain partly cloudy. There is also a possibility of light rain or snowfall at a few high mountainous locations in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces during the night.
