Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has said that if any unfit or corrupt candidate from his party wins the election, they will be recalled.
Speaking at a corner assembly in Chitwan during his election campaign, Lamichhane made this commitment to voters. He stated, “Standing here today, I want to say that if we fail to properly select and nominate the right people and those elected from RSP turn out to be bad, we will recall them even after they become Members of Parliament. We have already set a precedent by recalling someone within 72 hours.”
He also claimed that the RSP does not need to protect or carry the burden of any businessperson or middleman. Lamichhane said the party is not obligated to serve traders or intermediaries and added that, unlike others, they do not have to support such vested interests.
