The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 10.30 points (0.39 percent) on Wednesday, closing at 2,648.90. The benchmark index had gained 21.62 points on Tuesday, marking the third consecutive day of increase.
On Wednesday, the Sensitive Index increased by 1.20 points, the Float Index by 0.85 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 0.44 points. Among the 13 sub-indices, 10 recorded gains while three declined. The Life Insurance sub-index posted the highest growth at 1.79 percent, whereas the Finance, Mutual Fund, and Trading sub-indices saw marginal declines.
Turnover and Market Activity
The total transaction amount also saw a slight rise. On Tuesday, the market recorded a turnover of Rs 4.23 billion. On Wednesday, shares worth Rs 4.45 billion were traded through 48,640 transactions involving 333 companies. A total of 10,456,000 shares changed hands.
Top Gainers and Losers
Shares of Salapa Bikas Bank and Reliance Spinning Mills hit the positive circuit level. The share price of Win Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha rose by more than 9 percent, while Supermai Hydropower also surged by over 9 percent.
On the losing side, Himalayan Power Partner recorded the highest decline of 5.98 percent.
Highest Turnover
In terms of turnover, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company topped the list with transactions worth Rs 286.9 million. It was followed by Ngadi Group Power with nearly Rs 250 million in turnover, and SY Panel Nepal with over Rs 230 million worth of shares traded.
