Kathmandu — Home Minister Sudan Gurung has stated that no individual is above the law and clarified that the recent arrests were not driven by political revenge.
Reacting via social media following the arrests of former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Gurung emphasized that the actions were taken strictly within the framework of law.
“A promise is a promise. No one is above the law,” he wrote. “We have taken former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak into custody. This is not an act of revenge, but the beginning of justice.”
Gurung also expressed confidence that the country is now heading in a new direction. “I believe the nation will now move towards a new path,” he added in his statement.
