The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to keep KP Sharma Oli, chairperson of CPN (UML), and Ramesh Lekhak, former Home Minister and Congress leader, in custody for five days for investigation.
The order was issued by Judge Anand Prasad Shrestha during the court session.
Oli participated in the hearing via video conference from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, where he is admitted, while Lekhak was physically present in court.
The District Government Attorney’s Office had requested 10 days of custody for further investigation. Both were arrested on Saturday and admitted to the teaching hospital in Maharajgunj following their arrest.
