The District Court has rejected a request seeking permission to arrest Mahesh Basnet.
Earlier, Shobha Pathak had filed a petition at the Dhading District Police Office in Bhadra Kali, requesting his arrest in connection with a previously filed case. Based on this, the police submitted a fresh request for arrest to the court.
According to sources from the District Government Attorney’s Office, the bench of Justice Dhruv Karki hearing the matter refused to grant the arrest permission.
The court noted that permission cannot be granted again for an arrest in a case that has already been filed under investigation (tameli) and subsequently returned the petition to the police.
