Nepal’s stock market moved upward on Tuesday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gaining 19.70 points to reach 2,851. The rebound comes after a correction of 119 points over the previous two trading sessions.
Despite the rise in the index, total turnover declined compared to the previous day. Trading volume dropped from NPR 12.96 billion on Monday to NPR 11.11 billion on Tuesday.
Share prices of 195 companies increased, while 63 declined and 9 remained unchanged. In terms of transaction value, Ridi Power Company, API Power Company, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited, and SY Panel Nepal Limited were among the most actively traded.
Several companies hit the positive circuit limit with a 10% price surge, including Reliance Spinning Mills, Bhujung Hydropower, Super Khudi Hydropower, Ridgeline Energy, Suryakund Hydroelectric, and Hotel Forest Inn.
All sector indices recorded gains except for mutual funds and the ‘others’ category.
