A meeting of the central committee members from the Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress is continuing today.
The meeting, called by former acting party president Purna Bahadur Khadka, began on Tuesday and includes central office-bearers and members elected from the party’s 14th General Convention. The session is being held today at Hotel Smart in Dhumbarahi.
According to Congress leader Man Bahadur Nepali, discussions in Tuesday’s meeting focused on election outcomes and vote results secured by the party, the schedule for the 15th General Convention, and preparations for the convention.
Around 83 central members are participating in the meeting, and 15 members expressed their views on the first day.
The Deuba faction has intensified parallel activities after the group supporting a special general convention moved ahead by announcing the convention date.
Earlier, on Monday, the Deuba faction had organized a welcome program for newly elected lawmakers.
