A lightning strike in Bhimphedi–1, Bhaisey of Bagmati Rural Municipality in Makwanpur has claimed the life of one person and injured another.
The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Ajay Pahari. According to police, he was initially taken to Sanvi Polyclinic in Jhurjhure for treatment. While being referred to Hetauda for further care, doctors pronounced him dead at 11:25 PM.
Another local resident, 37-year-old Ujjwal Thokar, was injured in the same incident and is currently undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital.
Both individuals were struck by lightning while walking home after fishing.
